Before buying a tukango eSIM, make sure your phone supports eSIM technology. Here are two quick ways to check.
Method 1: Dial *#06#
This is the fastest way to check on any phone:
- Open your Phone app (the one you use to make calls)
- Dial \*#06#
- Look at the results:
- If you see an EID (a long number starting with 89) → Your phone supports eSIM ✅ - If you only see IMEI numbers and no EID → Your phone may not support eSIM ❌
Method 2: Check your phone settings
iPhone
Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data)
- If you see "Add eSIM" or "Add Cellular Plan" → eSIM supported ✅
- If this option doesn't exist → Not supported ❌
Samsung
Settings → Connections → SIM card manager
- If you see "Add eSIM" or "Add mobile plan" → eSIM supported ✅
- If this option doesn't exist → Not supported ❌
Google Pixel
Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → "Add eSIM"
Important: Carrier lock check
Even if your phone supports eSIM, it must also be carrier-unlocked to use a tukango eSIM.
How to check carrier lock:
iPhone: Settings → General → About → Look for "Carrier Lock"
- "No SIM restrictions" = Unlocked ✅
- Anything else = Locked ❌ → Contact your carrier to unlock
Samsung/Android: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks
- If you can change network settings freely = Likely unlocked ✅
- Contact your carrier if unsure
