WiFi makes it easier. You need a stable connection to download the eSIM profile from tukango's servers. Your home WiFi is more reliable than airport or hotel networks.

Land already connected. As soon as your plane lands and you turn off airplane mode, your tukango eSIM auto-connects to a local network. No fumbling at the gate.

The general flow is:
- Open Settings → Cellular / Mobile / SIM manager
- Tap "Add eSIM" or "Download a SIM"
- Scan the QR code from your tukango email
- Confirm and label the new line
After installation, before your flight
Once installed, do these final checks at home:
- Confirm the tukango line shows up in your phone's cellular settings
- Toggle the line OFF for now (you don't want it consuming standby battery)
- Make sure your home SIM is still set as the primary line for calls
On the day of travel
When you land at your destination:
- Turn off airplane mode
- Switch the tukango eSIM line ON
- Enable Data Roaming for the tukango line
- Wait 30-60 seconds for the network to register
- You're online!
