If you've installed your tukango eSIM but can't access the internet at your destination, follow this troubleshooting guide step by step.
Quick checklist
Before diving into detailed troubleshooting, check these common issues:
1. Is the eSIM line turned on? Settings → Cellular → Make sure the tukango line toggle is ON
2. Is Data Roaming enabled? This is the #1 cause of "no internet" after eSIM installation.
- iPhone: Settings → Cellular → [tukango line] → Data Roaming → ON
- Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Data roaming → ON
3. Is the correct line set for data?
- iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → Select tukango line
- Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Mobile data → Select tukango
4. Have you restarted your phone? A simple restart after landing often resolves connection issues.
Still no connection? Advanced steps
Check if your plan is active
Log in to your tukango dashboard and check your eSIM status. The status should show "Active" or "In Use."
If it shows "Ordered" or "Installed," your eSIM hasn't connected to a network yet. Make sure Data Roaming is ON and restart your phone.
Try manual network selection
Sometimes automatic network selection picks the wrong carrier.
iPhone: Settings → Cellular → [tukango line] → Network Selection → Turn OFF Automatic → Select a network manually
Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Network operators → Search networks → Select one manually
Look for networks mentioned in your country plan (e.g., STC, Vodafone, T-Mobile).
Reset network settings
iPhone: Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings
Samsung: Settings → General management → Reset → Reset network settings
After reset, re-enable your tukango eSIM line, turn on Data Roaming, and restart.
